Reading Glasses Wholesale

Reading glasses were one of the first products we made in our factory. Even today, they remain one of our most stable and reliable lines. Customers often say reading glasses look “simple,” but producing accurate diopters every day is not as easy as it seems. Below is the real situation of how we manufacture reading glasses in our mid-sized Wenzhou factory.

Why Reading Glasses Are a Core Product for Us

Reading glasses fit very well with the way Wenzhou factories operate: the supply chain is close, materials are stable, and workers are experienced in lens fitting and polishing. We have dedicated workers who have been assembling reading glasses for years. Some of them can practically feel diopter differences with their hands —of course not scientifically, but experienced workers really can sense issues fast.

Diopter Accuracy Comes First

Reading glasses are all about diopter accuracy. We check lenses repeatedly during production:

  • incoming lens power check
  • pre-assembly random test
  • post-assembly full test
  • spot-check again during packing

The most common powers are:

  • +1.00
  • +1.50
  • +2.00
  • +2.50
  • +3.00

Some markets need +0.75 or +3.50. We can do those too, but the rejection rate becomes higher, so QC has to be careful.

Frame Styles We Commonly Produce

Because we’ve been making reading glasses for many years, we have molds for many classic styles:

  • full-frame readers
  • half-frame readers
  • rimless reading glasses
  • TR90 reading glasses
  • metal reading glasses
  • folding reading glasses
  • photochromic reading glasses

Some customers want premium models with metal hinges and light TR90 frames. Others prefer simple injection frames because they are cheaper and stable. We can handle both directions.

Polishing Is More Important Than Most People Think

Many customers think “reading glasses = easy product.” It’s not wrong, but polishing decides 50% of the final look. If polishing is poor:

  • frames look cheap
  • temples don’t feel smooth
  • dust stays on corners

Our polishing workers are extremely experienced. They’ve done this for many years, and they always say: “If polish is bad, everything becomes bad.”

There is a reason why reading glasses from Wenzhou rarely look bad— most workers here grew up polishing.

Lens Fitting — Simple but Must Be Steady

Lens fitting looks simple. Press lens → align → done. But real production is not so perfect. Workers check:

  • whether lens fits too tight (risk of cracking)
  • whether lens is too loose (may fall out during use)
  • whether the frame is slightly twisted
  • whether curvature matches lens perfectly

Sometimes the same frame mold gives slightly different tightness because temperature changes affect injection results. Workers adjust quickly because they’ve done this for years.

Quality Control for Reading Glasses

QC for reading glasses includes:

  • power test (+1.00/+1.50/+2.00 etc.)
  • distortion check
  • frame straightness
  • hinge movement
  • nose pad comfort
  • lens clarity

If a batch has too many failures, QC stops everything and calls the production manager— this happens sometimes, and it’s normal in real factories.

Packing Details for Reading Glasses

Reading glasses require careful packing to avoid scratches. We usually:

  • pack left lens facing right lens to avoid friction
  • use stronger cartons for +3.50 and +4.00 orders
  • double-check diopter stickers on each polybag

Some customers want blister cards. Some want boxes. Some want simple polybags. We can follow any instruction as long as details are clear.

MOQ & Sample Policy

We keep our MOQ reasonable because reading glasses move fast:

  • Regular models: 600–1200 pcs per model
  • Special colors / TR90: 1200–2400 pcs per model
  • Metal readers: depends on hinge and material

Samples can be prepared quickly. Usually 5–10 days depending on styles.
