eyewear shipping logistics packing warehouse export cartons sunglasses factory

Shipping & Logistics

Shipping eyewear is not just “put in a box and send.” We handle reading glasses, sunglasses, sports eyewear, safety glasses, photochromic models, and seasonal items. Each type needs different packing habits, and logistics now change faster than before. This page explains how we prepare goods, how we book shipments, and the small real details behind every export.

How We Prepare Shipments

Before anything is packed, QC completes their checks. After that, the warehouse takes over. Our warehouse team knows one thing very clearly:
“If packed wrong, everything else becomes a problem.”

A typical day in the warehouse sounds like:

  • tape gun noise everywhere
  • workers shouting carton numbers
  • a forklift moving slowly through narrow space
  • someone checking shipping marks, saying “This is the old mark, change it.”

If you want to know how QC checks goods before they reach the warehouse, you can read the QC page here: → QC Process

Packing Standards

We pack differently depending on product type:

Reading Glasses

  • lens facing opposite directions to avoid scratches
  • diopter labels double-checked
  • extra cardboard reinforcement for +3.50 and above

Sunglasses

  • UV labels + polybag protection
  • for mirrored lenses: double polybag
  • carton walls reinforced when large frames are shipped

Sports Eyewear

  • foam separators to avoid pressure marks
  • curved frames positioned carefully so they don’t deform

Safety Glasses

  • side shields protected
  • bulk packing only for specific customers

Photochromic Glasses

  • no tight packing (affects lenses)
  • UV test label included if required

Kids / Party / Pet

  • color-separated packing
  • lots of SKUs → need careful carton labeling

Palletizing & Carton Protection

When orders are big, we put cartons on pallets. This protects items during sea transport.

We check:

  • pallet height (not too high)
  • no empty spaces inside cartons
  • stretch film wrapped tightly
  • corners reinforced if going far (South America, Middle East)

Workers sometimes joke that wrapping pallets is “like making dumplings” — if wrapped badly, they fall apart.

Shipping Options

Logistics change quickly these years. We always confirm prices before finalizing.

1. Express (DHL / UPS / FedEx)

Fastest for small orders (samples or 100–500 pcs). Normally 4–7 days to most countries. Prices change weekly.

  • good for new customers testing models
  • good for urgent replenishment
  • not good for heavy sunglasses or large cartons

2. Air Freight

Good balance of speed and cost. Many European customers use this for mid-sized shipments.

We send goods to the airport warehouse → customer handles customs on their side.

3. Sea Freight

Most common for big orders. Cheap but slow.

During peak season (before summer), containers get full very fast. Sometimes we have to book 2–3 weeks earlier.

Sea shipping is ideal for:

  • bulk sunglasses before summer
  • large reading glasses orders
  • photochromic models for seasonal stores

If you want to see how the factory operates daily, here is our factory page: → Inside the Factory

4. FBA / Amazon Shipments

We prepare FBA labels, carton labels, and pallet requirements according to Amazon rules.

Some rules are very specific. But we follow them because mistakes cost a lot.

  • single-SKU cartons
  • strict weight limits
  • barcodes verified twice

Delivery Time

Delivery time depends on:

  • product type
  • order size
  • QC requirements
  • season (summer is always busy)

Average Production Time

  • reading glasses: 20–30 days
  • sunglasses: 25–35 days
  • sports eyewear: 30–40 days
  • safety glasses: 20–30 days
  • photochromic: 28–40 days
  • kids/party/pet: 15–30 days

In real factory life, sometimes orders overlap. Then the production manager walks around with a notebook, saying “This one must go first, customer very urgent.” And everyone adjusts.

Small but Honest Notes

We don’t hide delays. If a lens supplier is late, we say it. If the weather slows photochromic tests, we say it. If a model needs re-polishing, we say it.

Many customers appreciate this openness. It makes cooperation smoother.
