eyewear factory case studies

Case Studies

We work with many different customers—Amazon sellers, brand owners, wholesalers, promotional product companies, pet stores, party shops, and optical distributors. Each customer brings a different challenge. These stories are from real orders in our Wenzhou workshop. They show how we solve problems, manage production pressure, and keep customers satisfied. Nothing here is exaggerated; these are simply the things that happen in a factory every day.

Case Study 1: 18-Color Kids Eyewear Order for a European Importer

A European importer placed an order of kids eyewear with 18 colors for the same model. This was actually more challenging than a 10,000 pcs order with only two colors.

The Challenge

  • 18 color changes in injection
  • difficult to keep color consistency
  • packing required strict color separation
  • cartons needed special labeling

Our injection workers joked that this order was “like making a rainbow while the machine is hot”. Color changes take time because leftover material must be cleaned completely or the new color becomes contaminated.

How We Solved It

  • arranged color sequence from light → dark
  • kept injection temperature stable within ±3°C
  • QC checked each batch under natural light near windows
  • packing team separated SKUs with extra-thick dividers

The customer was very satisfied because the colors looked exactly like their Pantone references. They placed repeat orders later.

Case Study 2: Urgent 30-Day Sports Eyewear for a US Brand Launch

A US brand contacted us with an urgent request. They needed sports eyewear for an upcoming marketing campaign and only had 30 days from confirmation to shipping.

Main Difficulties

  • sports eyewear has complicated structure
  • lens curvature needed precise fitting
  • color-injected temples required longer cooling time
  • customer wanted 6 patterns, all with printing

Normally, this type of production takes 35–40 days because there are many assembly steps. But the customer’s launch date was fixed.

Factory Adjustments

  • we put two assembly lines on the same model
  • kept a QC member stationed at the injection area full-time
  • worked 1–2 hours extra per day during the last week
  • sent daily video updates to the customer

The goods were finished on Day 28 and shipped on Day 30. The customer later thanked us and said our production updates helped them stay calm during the tight period.

Case Study 3: 40,000 pcs Safety Eyewear Order with Custom Certification

A large distributor ordered 40,000 pcs safety eyewear for construction supply stores in South America. They also needed special compliance documents.

Issues We Had to Handle

  • large volume
  • certificate requirement
  • strong carton packing for overseas shipping
  • lens impact resistance needed stronger QC

Safety eyewear is sensitive because workers use them on job sites. Lens cannot pop out; frames cannot break under pressure.

Solutions

  • reinforced lens locking during assembly
  • conducted random impact tests in workshop
  • used double-wall cartons because their country’s customs is strict
  • provided certificate photos and batch numbers

Customer said our clear documentation helped them avoid customs delays.

Case Study 4: 3,600 pcs Party Eyewear for a Holiday Event

A promotional company ordered 3,600 pcs oversized party eyewear for a holiday event. Even though the quantity was not huge, the shape and surface area were big.

Production Challenges

  • big molds are slower to cool
  • glitter coating must be consistent
  • packing requires thick separators

Workers joked that these giant glasses looked like props from a comedy movie. But QC was strict because large surfaces show scratches easily.

Final Result

All frames passed scratch checks under strong LED lights. The customer reordered the same model for the next year’s festival.
